Hack the Future 2026: a global hackathon with SparkSmiths, EventSpark and Flock
Africa Ohana is co-hosting Hack the Future 2026, a global hackathon run by SparkSmiths and Flock and built on EventSpark, their event registration and check-in platform.
Teams build a real feature on the EventSpark and Flock stack and then pitch how they would take it to market, so the competition rewards both engineering and commercial thinking. This year's theme is Plan. Attend. Capture., with three challenges:
AI Event Assistant
AI Event Planner
Universal Lead Scan and Contact Capture
The qualifier round closed on 5 October and shortlisted teams are now building. The grand final takes place on Wednesday 18 November 2026 in Johannesburg and online, with a cash prize and the prospect of internships for standout participants.
We are proud to see African Trailblazers on that shortlist. Good luck to every team!
